Italian tourism awards

Loredana Tartaglia – 15/12/2025

In Rome, in the Cesar Ritz Hall of the historic The St. Regis Rome, among crystal chandeliers, richly decorated high ceilings, and Christmas lights, the magic began with the wand of a dancer performing to the notes of The Nutcracker alongside Gabriella Carlucci, the well-known television personality and host of the awards. Campobasso, the charm of Central Italy Among the first winners to take the stage, in the Media and Travel Stories category, was Massimiliano Finazzer Flory with his format “Dante per i borghi, viaggio favoloso nell’Italia che c’è,” a literary road trip created and hosted by the director and actor across Italy through the verses of Dante Alighieri. Recognition for the DOVE project “I dedicate this award to the inhabitants of the villages as guardians of the Italy that still exists,” said Massimiliano Finazzer Flory while receiving the Italian Tourism Award. The prize was given to the traveling project followed by DOVE as media partner, with special seats reserved for readers. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Società Dante Alighieri, the Ministero del Turismo, under the patronage of the Giubileo 2025, with the collaboration of the Società Geografica Italiana and the support of Intesa Sanpaolo, the main sponsor of the artistic project. “The real fabulous journey is life itself; tourism has poetic power,” added Massimiliano Finazzer Flory. “It pushes you to return to yourself, on a journey between heart and mind. Dante teaches that every tour needs guides, namely reason and faith, and the love that moves the sun and the other stars. Tourism is about exploring an origin, and the Supreme Poet was the first tour operator.” Poetry, landscape, gastronomy One thing is certain: with the Dante per i Borghi format, the Divine Comedy entered small villages through theater, poetry, landscape, gastronomy, and sustainable tourism. From north to south, under the banner of literature and geography, the literary journey with the director and actor enchanted audiences with Dante’s verses and celebrated another side of the country, with tradition as a traveling companion. During the “Italian Tourism Awards” evening, which will air on Rai 2 on Tuesday, December 16, in the late evening slot, everyone celebrated and paid tribute to “the professionals of the tourism world, rich in wonders and people, companies, and professionals who work with passion, creativity, and courage,” as declared by Deborah Garlando, one of the creators of the award and CEO and commercial director of Media Hotel Radio. Traveling with Dante If the journey with Dante has continuously combined Dantean literature, geography, and tastings of local products, the experience of wonder is far from over. Massimiliano Finazzer Flory revealed that he is already working on a new project about the Renaissance, with Leonardo da Vinci as the protagonist. It was during that period that the soul of Italy learned to look at the world with new eyes, and the Renaissance lit a spark that still illuminates the country’s identity today — an identity capable of creating beauty and uniting art with thought.
